It has other industry veterans providing business leadership and an entrepreneur group of owners.

Corporate

E. Bryan Finison, Jr., MBA, AVA (Owner, CEO) – Bryan comes from a business growth and managerial consulting background who specializes in corporate value.  He is a recognized national speaker and teacher.  His consulting division helped differentiate the CPA firm that grew from 5 employees to over 150.  As part of his regular consulting, Bryan, routinely has worked with over 400 companies in various consulting engagements, many of which were turnaround engagements.  One such project involved a tree farm, which lead to the future development of the Tree House enterprise.

Bryan performs the role of corporate leadership and business management.  He has ten years of experience in the green industry relating to nursery production and management.

David Harper, CPA(Owner, Operations and Sales) – David directs the Tuscaloosa location and provides corporate governance in the area of operations and sales.  With both an accounting and sales background, David brings corporate depth from a sales and systems perspective.  David’s innate ability to create, achieve, and relate builds upon his corporate 100 sales skills training and success.

David graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1994 with a degree in accounting. He practiced accounting with Ernst & Young and some other recognized CPA firms before joining AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in 2001. David has nine years of sales experience that he brings to Tree House Farm & Nursery in addition to his two years of nursery experience at Tree House.

Ed Finison, Sr. is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, graduating in the top 10 of his class, and has ten years of military leadership experience including three tours in the Vietnam War.  In addition, he has 30 years of management experience in the textile industry featuring production planning, scheduling, and systems implementation.  He was one of five key executives to build a $5 million revenue company into over a $100 million company.  His strength is in lean manufacturing and work flow.  Ed has sales and service experience with such major retailers as Nike, Target, Kohl's, and JC Penney.  Ed provides senior leadership to Tree House utilizing his skill to navigate managerial and strategic decisions in times of uncertainty.  Ed has four years of nursery experience with Tree House serving as the executive director of the two Atlanta locations.

Alpharetta Staff

Loamen Cordua, Alpharetta and Locust Grove General Manager and Wholesale Leadership - Loamen has been in the nursery business for over 15 years working through the ranks from a CDL driver to General Manager.  He has worked at multiple wholesale yards in the Atlanta area, from sales manager to nursery manager.  His love for plants has driven his career to help customers with some of the most interesting species.   Loamen seeks the thrill of servicing landscapers in the high end residential setting.  With a law enforcement background in the beginning of his career, Loamen creates order and discipline at the nursery.  Within that order, Loamen has the sales acumen to teach other salespersons and to create the sale himself as evidenced by his success in helping to start the wholesale division of Pike Nursery in Atlanta.

Janice Cordua, Alpharetta Office Manager and Salesperson - Janice has 30 years experience in horticulture having worked since 1982 in high end commercial and residential interior and exterior landscaping.  She specializes in design and installation.  Janice performs a quality control function in the office regarding purchasing and receiving in addition to her full time duties of sales.  With experience at several of the large nurseries in Atlanta, Janice brings a wealth of knowledge to the Tree House management team. 

Janice Stamey, Sales and Purchasing - Janice has over 25 years experience in the horticulture industry having served in various roles from accounting to sales.  Janice has a horticulture degree from Perimeter College and a Greenhouse Business Management Certificate from the University of Georgia.  She has purchased for a large re-wholesaler providing the expert plant knowledge necessary to compete in a demanding environment.  Janice also helps supervise the retail aspect of the Alpharetta location while also calling on her wholesale book of business.

South Atlanta Staff

Rick Shackelford,  Location Manager and Sales - Rick is an industry veteran trained in the old school of nursery management and operations.  His insistence on plant quality and customer service were developed from some of the pioneers in the green industry in the metro Atlanta area.  With more than 36 years of experience in the nursery industry, Rick has progressed through several of the large nursery operations while also taking a few assignments to operate smaller nursery locations.  Rick has been the Southern Nursery Association tradeshow manager and has worked in landscape installation.  Rick can help guide customers through his personal experience.

Richard Jones, Assistant Manager and Grower - Richard has over 30 years of horticulture experience with more than 25 years of owning a greenhouse operation.  Richard has grown for mass merchants such as Wal*Mart and Piggly Wiggly and likewise grown for landscapers and independent garden centers such as Pikes and Greene Brothers.Richard has formal education from the University of Georgia with a degree in horticulture earned in 1978 but would argue that his most important education has come from years of hands-on growing of trial and error in the greenhouse. 

Tuscaloosa Staff

Debbie S. Black -  Retail Floor Manager - Debbie has over 10 years of retail garden experience as a part of her overall 30+ years of running a retail floor.  She operates the retail floor with her background of merchandising and sales.  Her organization skills and high energy provide the optimal retail shopping experience.  Debbie expanded Tree House into the gift shop product line with her experience of “going to market”.  She adds an element of fashion and style choices to supplement the traditional nursery product lines.

David White – Landscape Design and Wholesale - A Vietnam Veteran, David earned his civil engineering degree from the University of Alabama.  After serving a career as an engineer, David transferred his skills to start a second career in landscaping.  With now over 17 years in the landscape industry, David is a landscape designer using landscaper design programs and AutoCAD. He is State of Alabama retaining wall certified and proud of one unique design of a 28 foot tall water fall.  David owned a landscape installation business before joining Tree House and now advises landscapers and retail customers from personal experience.
